Jewel Chanda is a writer, advocate, researcher and scholar from Kolkata. He served for ten years as a judicial officer in the West Bengal judiciary before resigning to practise as an advocate before the Calcutta High Court and the district courts, where he founded Chanda Associates, Advocates & Solicitors. A gold medallist, he holds four postgraduate degrees - in law (criminology), business law, environment and development, and sociology - and is currently researching artificial intelligence and the law at Jindal Global Law School. The people he has met in courtrooms, the contradictions of society and the wonder of science are the three sources of his writing. His Bengali science-fiction novella "২০৭০ : ব্রহ্ম : পরম সত্য", first serialised on Bangla Golpo Samagra, is also published as a book (ISBN 978-93-5578-875-7).
